Bloom Time

It's August! Time for blooms. It has been a really tough summer for VT with so much rain and flooding. I'm amazed that my dahlias even grew. But it just goes to show how resilient Dahlias can be. Everyday is a new beginning in the Dahlia World. As new buds open and the mature blooms drop their petals. My newest favorite (and I say newest because it changes so often) is Myrtle's Folly. As she matured, her petals reached all the way behind her to encompass her like an angel wrapping its wings around a baby to protect it. She became a giant puff ball with no beginning and no end. Truly beautiful. And the many different colors...wow!

As many of my plants start to bloom, I am reminded on why I chose to take on this wild adventure. My happiness is key. As it should be for everyone. Getting my hands dirty and my skin tanned for hours of outside work, has enriched my life beyond what I ever thought it would.

Plant it, let it grow and happiness will bloom.
